Everything you need to know about how rentals work. In this article, we explain the whole booking process, from the beginning (registration and reservation) to the end.
To book a pool on Swimmy, there are 5 small steps :
#1 - Register
If you want to book a pool, everything starts with the signup. Don't panic, it's very quick.
It's 100% free, and we just need a couple of basic informations about you such as your First Name, Last Name, email adress, age (you must be over 21), phone number.
#2 - Search for a pool near you
Enter your location in our search bar, and make your choice from the selection of available pools.
#3 - You have found the pool of your dreams? You have two options:
You want to know more about this pool and its owner? You can simply "Send a message" to the owner, without committing yourself to anything.
If you are really decided, it is time to commit yourself a little more: you can directly make a "Booking request".
#4 - MAKE A BOOKING REQUEST
You have talked with the owner, you are satisfied with the conditions of reception, so you decide to reserve this pool. Nothing could be simpler > click on the "Booking request" button.
You will then have to specify :
- The desired reservation date
- The desired time slot (morning / afternoon / all day / evening)
- The number of adults (children between 12 and 18 years old are considered as adults)
- The number of children between 3 and 12 years old (why? Because they benefit from a 50% discount)
- The number of children under 3 years old
- The possible options you wish to add (barbecue / towels / jacuzzi ...)
We will then ask you for your bank details, but don't panic, we will only take the funds if (and only if) the owner accepts your request. Technically, it is simply a "bank imprint".
If you want to back out, that's also possible: once your reservation request has been sent, you can cancel it up to 48 hours before the start of the reservation. You will be refunded in full.
The owners have up to 4 days to accept or refuse your reservation request. After this period, without any action from you, the request is cancelled.
In case of refusal by the owner, or even if he/she does not respond to your request, the funds are automatically put back on your account.
#5 - An owner has accepted one of your requests! B.R.A.V.O. you are an ace.
You will then receive the owner's phone number, as well as his/her exact address: do not hesitate to exchange as much as possible with him/her, by phone, to prepare your reservation.
You can cancel at any time up to 48 hours before the beginning of the reservation. You will then receive a full refund. (For example, if the weather is not as good as expected).
If you have made a reservation request today for tomorrow, and it is accepted, it will be non-refundable (since it is included in the 48 hours).
It's D-Day! Armed with your best pair of sunglasses and your flip-flops, you go to the owner's house.
It is possible that he asks you to fill and sign a simplified inventory of fixtures, which we have set up. This is an important step that protects you in case of a dispute. It is important to fill in this inventory of fixtures at the entrance and at the exit.
The owner will surely remind you of some basic safety rules, and the main points of his internal regulations.
He may ask you for an identity document to check that everything is in accordance with the reservation request.
Joy and happiness, the pool is yours! You can use it without moderation.
At the end of the booking period, the owner will come back to check that everything went well. He will simply ask you to leave the place in the same condition as you found it. After a short inventory of fixtures, you can go home, full of sun and chlorine.
It's already over! You are back home.
